Between contests, coverage, filing IP and more, fees add up fast, but online research convinced me I would need pitch decks to catch the attention of busy industry pros. Most of the jobs posted for non-union members also requested a deck along with a script. I didn't want to miss out on a chance to get noticed.
COST, QUALITY, AND CONFUSION
Rates for a pitch deck can range from $1000 and up. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but I didn’t have a thousand dollars to spend on each of my pilots and features. Once you've submitted the questionnaire, you will receive the first draft in about a week. The total cost for your pitch deck will be $400, payable (via Zelle only) with an initial deposit of $200 and the final $200 upon delivery of the completed pitch deck in PDF form.
A typical pitch deck has a title page with a tagline, a log line page, a synopsis page, a comparable projects page, character pages, pages about future episodes or the season, and a page about the creator, their credentials and accolades. You can also add more pages about the setting, the projected production costs, and other people involved in the project.
Concise, engaging descriptions are the way to go. Anywhere from 300-900 words is ideal.

In the questionnaire, you will be asked to provide images that you like and/or want to incorporate in your pitch deck. Using stock images that resemble famous actors or films can be a safer bet than using a real actor's image or a still from a well-known movie.
